Jose Bazán – Senior Principal
As founding partner of Bazán Architects, Jose oversees all the projects in the office. Jose has more than 35 years experience designing and managing projects such as single-family homes, community centers, in addition to multi-family apartment buildings, and clinics. His ability to visualize and design what his clients ask for but can’t see has led him to create beautiful spaces out of simple practical materials at reasonable cost. In designing for the underserved communities, Jose hopes to inspire and expand horizons.
Jose completed both his undergraduate degree and Master of Architecture at the University of Washington. He is registered in both Washington and Hawaii.

Kevin Mackey – Senior Architect
With over 30 years experience, Kevin has managed projects from programming through construction that range from single-family homes to multi-family complexes and commercial office buildings. Kevin’s clients value his hands-on knowledge of building codes, his ability to produce clear, concise drawings and specs, and his knack for finding creative ways to solve project challenges that are practical and economical.
Kevin has worked at Bazán since 1989. He earned his Bachelors in Architecture from Washington State University. He is registered in Washington State.

Spencer St. Thomas – Construction Manager
Spencer is a Project Designer/manager who has been with the firm since 2006 with years of experience in the successful alterations and new constructions of dental and medical clinics, affordable housing, single family, mixed use and commercial projects. He is a certified CAD manager as well.

S. Brian Orishak – Architectural Designer
With years of experience, Brian brings multiple talents to projects including a unique design sensibility and attention to detail. He will often utilize his diverse background and plural interest in the arts to bring fresh ideas and approaches to the project, fusing together the functional and inspirational aspects of design. While at Bazan his work has included medical and dental clinics, pharmacies, behavior health facilities, interactive visitor centers, and various housing types from residential to mixed-use development. Work has encompassed new structures and developments to tenant improvement.
Brian joined Bazan in 2012. He received a B.Sc. from the University of Wisconsin, attended Boston Architectural Center, and earned an M.Arch from the University of Washington.

Derrick Wong – Architectural Designer
Derrick has been with the firm since 2014 and has experience in the successful alterations and new constructions of single family, affordable housing, dental and medical clinics, mixed use and commercial projects. He manages our website and Revit. Graduated with a bachelor of architectural science degree at the Washington State University.
